ABOUT METABOLIC TRAINING

WHAT IS METABOLIC TRAINING?

Metabolic Training is a form of strength training that prioritizes low rest periods between sets and full body workouts in order to simultaneously build muscle, develop strength, enhance mobility, and improve cardiovascular conditioning. Because it is so efficient & effective, it is an extremely popular training program that has a high degree of flexibility to cater to a wide variety of age groups, experience levels, and fitness goals.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO METABOLIC TRAINING?

Due to the union of “Time Under Tension” with targeted rep counts, Metabolic Training delivers incredible results when it comes to developing strength and building muscle. When combined with doing all of this in less time than most people are used to, it is no surprise that once most people start implementing Metabolic Training as their primary fitness program, it becomes a transcendent moment in their fitness journey that truly changes the way they view fitness.

WHAT SETS METABOLIC APART?

Our founder, Matt Phelps, is one the forefathers of Metabolic Training, and developed the philosophy through years of trying to master the challenging task of implementing effective strength training in a group setting. The structure, organization, and programming are second to none, and help form the foundation of an even stronger community of like minded individuals.

WILL METABOLIC MAKE ME TOO MUSCULAR OR BULKY?

Building lean muscle tissue is predominantly a process determined by genetic predisposition; Metabolic Training will develop as much lean muscle as you are genetically predisposed to building through the strategic emphasis of both “higher rep” and “lower rep” programming.

If you are a woman that is concerned that you will get “too big” doing Metabolic Training, you simply do not possess the testosterone levels to develop massive amounts of lean muscle tissue, so this should not be a concern. Instead, you will develop a healthy amount of lean muscle to support a strong metabolism, and an active lifestyle!

WILL METABOLIC MAKE ME LOSE STRENGTH AND SIZE?

Provided that loading and training are accounted for, you will not lose any size doing Metabolic Training; in fact, you will likely notice new hypertrophy in your delts, glutes, and upper back! If you are lacking in cardiovascular conditioning at the start of your Metabolic journey, we recommend you prioritize the “indicator lift” of each day, and back off the intensity of the other movements. As your fitness level “catches up” with your strength, you will get into the best shape of your life, and optimize lean muscle mass development.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND CLASSES?

While this is highly dependent on age, ability level, and outside activity, we have found that, generally, the “sweet spot” is 3-5 times per week.

CAN I ATTEND CLASS IF I AM PREGNANT OR HAVE AN INJURY?

If you are pregnant, postpartum, or have past injuries you should always receive medical clearance from your physician before partaking in any new training program. With that said, we have had countless clients in all of these categories safely participate in our program with modifications provided by our coaching staff.

WHAT ARE MY MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS?

Our membership options are available in a variety of terms. We also offer discounted rates for healthcare workers, teachers, military & first responders, as well as students. Your studio manager can assist in helping you to determine the best option for your goals & budget.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF CLASSES?

Our class schedule varies per location, but includes a variety of morning, daytime & evening classes to suit your scheduling needs. To view the schedule for your studio of choice, please download the Metabolic Fitness app.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I BOOK CLASSES?

Classes are available to book up to 7 days in advance, and must be registered for scheduled class time before arrival.

CAN I VISIT OTHER METABOLIC LOCATIONS?

Yes! Your membership is valid at all Metabolic studios and you can sign up for any class outside of your home studio that does not have a waitlist.

WHAT IS THE CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY?

You must cancel a class reservation more than 12 hours before the start of class to avoid a late cancel fee. Removing yourself from a class less than 12 hours before the start will result in a $10 fee. Removing yourself less than 1 hour before the start, or no shows, will result in a $15 fee.

WHAT IS THE MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cancellation terms and fees vary depending on your contract length and details. Please contact your studio for more information about your contract terms.

CAN I FREEZE MY MEMBERSHIP?

You may request a membership freeze (minimum thirty (30) days to maximum sixty (60) days) due to temporary relocation, injury/disability or pregnancy. Documentation is required.

YOUR FIRST WORKOUT

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING?

Workout clothes (try out Metabolic apparel!), clean sneakers and whatever makes you feel comfortable. Bring plenty of water and a towel, as well as a small mat for your hands/knees if you prefer.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

Check out our info for first timers tab above, rest and hydrate. You should come ready and willing to experience the best workout of your life.

HOW EARLY SHOULD I SHOW UP?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that your studio manager can greet you and show you the ropes.
